LAT homeless show

Will Campbell at blogging.la (last night), Carolyn Kellogg at LAist and Brady Westwater (this morning) blogged about last evening's forum on homelessness at the Times building. Publisher Jeff Johnson stumbled over Mayor Villaraigosa's name, the mayor waxed in his usual way about the homeless problem, and solutions that have been talked about forever were talked about again. Panelists included Chief Bratton, Sheriff Baca, columnist Steve Lopez, homeless experts and Santa Monica councilman Bobby Shriver. Retired longtime county Supervisor Ed Edelman was there as Santa Monica's municipal homeless troubleshooter.

Add LAT: Modern Art Notes observes that today's Times op-ed by Michael S. Roth praising the Getty grant program did not disclose that Roth's school received a $200,000 grant. Roth did disclose that he used to be associate director of the Getty Research Institute.
