Rivers of light

creditTheresa at The Wit of the Staircase points to a Quicktime video that glides silently over downtown at night, letting you watch the light patterns formed by traffic moving onto and along the Harbor Freeway and adjacent streets. It runs a minute or two, hosted on the Grass Collective website.

She discovered the video through BLDGBLOG, which led me to a blog piece called Greater Los Angeles Traffic Galaxies featuring some of the photography of David Maisel (larger image there):
