Variety style moves

Variety has hired Monica Corcoran away from In Style's Los Angeles bureau to replace Ginny Chien as style editor, today's Women's Wear Daily says. Corcoran becomes part of the lifestyle and features desk realigned after the demise of VLife as a separate publication. She will oversee The Stylephile, Variety's blog that relaunched this week, and work on lifestyle pieces. Variety Weekend editor Dana Harris, senior editor Deborah Vankin and deputy editor Rachel Dowd produce the weekend pages and occasional stand-alone sections such as today's Oscars issue with Q'Orianka Kilcher on the cover. Corcoran comes on next week.
