Sam Chu Lin, reporter was 67

Chu LinCity News Service is reporting that Sam Chu Lin, a former CBS News correspondent who reported most recently for Fox 11, died Sunday in Burbank. Chu Lin began reporting in California in the 1960s and has worked here at Channel 5 and at KFWB radio. Fox 11's website runs the City News story:

Chu Lin was also a respected print journalist, writing columns and articles on Asian-American affairs for Asian Week, Rafu Shimpo, and the San Francisco Examiner. His most recent story appeared this past Saturday on AsianWeek.com. "He was a reporter who went the extra ten miles to make sure people knew who their Asian neighbors were," said Stewart Kwoh, Executive Director and President of the Asian Pacific American Legal Center....

The Associated Press, United Press International, The Greater Los Angeles Press Club, the Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Radio and Television News Association have all honored Chu Lin during his five decades as a broadcast journalist.
