Mayor's 912 appointees

The so-called 912 Commission is charged with reviewing, evaluating and making recommendations to improve the nascent neighborhood council system. Mayor Villaraigosa named his fourteen appointees today, half of them from neighborhood councils:

§ Jan Breidenbach, community activist for affordable housing. § Christine Chavez, labor leader and political director for the United Farm Workers. § Dora Leong Gallo, Chief Executive Officer, A Community of Friends. § Bong Hwan Kim, Executive Director, Pasadena Neighborhood Housing Services. § Corrine Sanchez, President & CEO, El Proyecto del Barrio. § Jackie DuPont Walker, President, Ward Economic Development Corporation. § Linda J. Wong, Vice President of Civic Engagement, California Community Foundation.


Neighborhood Council Selections:


§ Esther Cepeda, member, Harbor City Neighborhood Council.
§ Cindy Cleghorn, member, Sunland Tujunga Neighborhood Council.
§ Jeffrey Jacobberger, member, Mid City West Neighborhood Council and member of board of
directors of certified Los Angeles Neighborhood Council.
§ Charlotte Laws, member, Greater Valley Glen Neighborhood Council.
§ Jason Lyon, member, Silverlake Neighborhood Council and grassroots organizer.
§ Paul Reznik, President, West Los Angeles Neighborhood Council.
§ Julian Rogers, member, Southeast Neighborhood Development Council and chair of the
Empowerment Congress Southeast Neighborhood Development Council.
