'My California' keeps on giving

My California coverThe collection of close-to-home travel narratives titled My California has been newly chosen as the One City, One Book pick for Whittier, Santa Barbara and Sacramento. The collaborators at CalforniaAuthors.com and Angel City Press donate proceeds from sales to the California Arts Council, and the twenty-seven authors who contributed pieces (from Arax to Yost) accepted no payment. David Hockney and the Getty donated the use of "Pearblossom Highway" on the cover.

Edit HeadOn a related note: Angel City Press publisher Paddy Calistro will appear on stage this summer on Nantucket in A Conversation with Edith Head, the play she co-wrote with Susan Claassen. Calistro co-authored the legendary costume designer's posthumous autobiography, Edith Head's Hollywood, and plays herself. Claassen stars as Edith Head, who she quite resembles. The play runs July 19-August 5. And yes, Angel City published my Wilshire Boulevard book.
