After several weeks as resident guests, and some time before that as anonymous visiting bloggers, Mayrav Saar and Kate Coe are official at Fishbowl LA. Mayrav is a former Orange County Register staffer-turned freelance columnist who makes a few appearances in the archive of LA Observed. Kate is a TV producer who has written for the London Sunday Times and The Chronicle of Higher Education, among other publications, and is a Friend of Cathy Seipp (Cathy takes credit for recommending her to Fishbowl's owner Mediabistro.) Kate used to comment here a fair bit back when LA Observed had comments. FishbowlLA tried out a number of prospects after Claude Brodesser-Akner left for TMZ in June. I'm told that Mediabistro even took a run at luring Nikki Finke's Hollywood blog away from the LA Weekly. Best wishes to Saar and Coe.

Related note: Mediabistro seems to be once again for sale.

Semi-related note: Seipp has managed to irk TV Barn blogger Aaron Barnhart. She responds.
