Not again!

Runway 25RLAX lost the instrument landing system on runway 25R again this morning. The system was out for about forty minutes, forcing landings to move to the north runways and reducing the airport's capacity. FAA spokesman Ian Gregor said they didn't yet know what caused the outage. Also today, authorities at LAX evacuated an Alaska Airlines flight from Guadalajara after the crew found a suspicious item. No explosives were found in a search.

Last Monday: Hurry up and wait at LAX

More history repeats: Another power outage downtown knocked out parts of City Hall, Parker Center and the county Hall of Administration from about 11:30 am to noon. The Civic Center also lost power Aug. 2.
