Santa Monica may have your money

As of yesterday, the city of Santa Monica is seeking out people who overpaid on parking tickets to give them refunds. The city has collected and quietly held on to about $950,000 in double payments on 18,000 parking citations. In a fit of civic ethics, the city plans to send refund notices to those vehicle owners it can find. If you think you are eligible, you can also go to the city website and fill out a form.
