A For Sale sign went up today in front of the Daily Breeze building — yes, literally. Management says it doesn't mean the paper's pending sale by Copley is done, but it got people's attention nonetheless. Email to the staff:

You've probably noticed the "For Sale" sign which went up in front of our building earlier today. As you know, the newspaper and the building/land went on the market in late June. Copley is also pursuing selling the building/land separate from the potential sale of The Daily Breeze. Whether or not the Breeze remains a Copley newspaper, it doesn't make smart business sense to remain in a building of this size. A story about the building and land is planned for Wednesday's Daily Breeze.

Sincerely,
