FlyerThe NWS says Christmas Day in L.A. will be a lot like today — spring-like and mostly clear. Sunday's warmth helped make for a festive atmosphere on the Music Center plaza, where hundreds waited to get into the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion for the county's free Christmas Eve concert. Some gave up, grabbed chairs and watched on the giant screen. "This looks like L.A.," a friend who came by remarked to LA Observed, taking in the mix of ages and faces enjoying the scene. The only off-key note came when co-host Sheryl Lee Ralph urged that everyone looking in on KCET come downtown because there were no lines. Say what? Boos and good-natured laughs rose across the plaza: at that moment the line stretched from the Pavilion's front doors past the Mark Taper Forum on the far side of the plaza. Took us about an hour to get in, and when we left an hour later — satiated — the line was still going strong. This year's hosts, by the way, included Sandra Tsing Loh and Charles Phoenix.
