LogKCAL-9 will once again air the yule log on Christmas morning, continuing a 40-year tradition (in New York — just three years here.) The log will crackle away in silence from 7 to 11 am, accompanied by a simulcast of Christmas music in stereo on KOST 103.5 FM. Expect a bevy of hosts: Channel 9 news anchor Pat Harvey, weathercaster Jackie Johnson and Mark Wallengren and Kim Amidon of KOST’s “Mark & Kim Morning Show.”

"The most photogenic piece of wood since Howdy Doody," says KCAL's news release.
