IversonNo, not Allen Iverson — not yet anyway. LA Observed contributor Bob Baker has taken over from Rick Cipes as the official, paid Clippers blogger at LATimes.com. He'll be spending a lot of time at practices and Staples Center, so I hope we still get to see Bob around Native Intelligence. Incidentally, he thinks the Clippers should go after Iverson, whose Philadelphia 76ers want to be rid of the star's angry personality as fast as possible — and he thinks the Clippers should pass on Iverson. Allen is that kind of talent.

I want the Clips to trade for Allen Iverson because he plays with an infectious aggression and toughness that some guys lose when they become multimillionaires at 25. Even now, he plays with the determination of somebody defying a lesser destiny.

I beg the Clips not to trade for AI because he is the basketball equivalent of the woman you leave your wife for, only to realize a couple years later that you overlooked a certain immaturity and flightiness that seemed so seductive from afar.

Here is Baker's first Clippers post, Misery loves poetry.
