Dutton's update

Dutton's front doorLast-chance talks between Dutton's management and the city of Beverly Hills failed to stave off the Dec. 31 closure of the Canon Drive bookstore. The doors did not reopen today and staffers inside were busy packing up. Sounds like there is a story to be told on how the city's promises to the Dutton's ownership — used to lure the store two years ago — did not quite pan out. So once again, the entire community of Beverly Hills is without a general interest bookstore.
