Media breakthrough *

creditGovindi Murty, co-founder of the Liberty Film Festival, sits in the guest chair this weekend on "Ebert and Roeper." She joins a lineup that has included Jay Leno, director Kevin Smith, NYT critic A.O. Scott, Hollywood Reporter columnist and blogger Anne Thompson and local journalist Zorianna Kit. On Murty's show they review new releases Alpha Dog, Seraphim Falls, Catch and Release, Arthur & The Invisibles and Alone With Her. Murty also review the new Criterion Collection DVD release of Akira Kurosawa's Yojimbo and Sanjuro.

Also noted: Amy Alkon, the advice columnist and local blogger, was due to be on tonight's "Nightline" for her posting on the Internet the cell phone number of a woman who Amy deemed was talking too loud. The segment has been postponed to Monday returned to tonight's lineup, Alkon emails.
