McCaw's revenge

Sordid stuff out of the Santa Barbara News-Mess never stops. Now owner Wendy McCaw has hit her former editor Jerry Roberts with a claim for $25 million. Let's see, he brings respect to her small-town paper. Runs a happy news room. Quits when she crosses a bunch of ethics lines. Most of her staff quits too. She's filthy rich, he is unemployed and undergoing cancer treatment. She doesn't want $25 million he doesn't have, of course, she just wants to torture Roberts. Classy, eh?

Also: The Electronic Freedom Foundation hammers McCaw for seeking the identity of an anonymous blog commenter, urges her to back the First Amendment.
