Three Five Six more News-Press reporters fired

Dawn Hobbs, Barney McManigal, and Rob Kuznia had participated in a Friday rally in which current and former employees hung a banner from a bridge over U.S. 101 saying "Cancel Your Newspaper Today." The Teamsters union rep calls the terminations "a blatant bare knuckled attack" and said an unfair labor practice charge was being filed with the National Labor Relations Board. Breaking: Reporters Melissa Evans and Tom Schultz were fired this morning, and the sports' department's senior writer John Zant is believed to be next, the Santa Barbara Independent says. Zant too, blogs Craig Smith, whose blog slogan is "Covering Santa Barbara Law and Media Like A Wet Blanket."
