New tech chief at City Hall
Mayor Villaraigosa named Randi Levin, NBC Universal's former Vice President and Group Information Officer, as the interim Chief Technology Officer and General Manager of the Information and Technology Agency. Levin begins immediately and the City Council will be asked to confirm her as the permanent GM. Also, Rafael López was nominated as Executive Director of the Commission for Children, Youth and Their Families.
New hire at Metromix
Caroline Ryder will come on as Style Editor at Large and produce the forthcoming Metromix blog, Style Ryder.
Solomon Moore to NYT?
The L.A. and New York Timeses have been tussling over Moore for more than a month, but Fishbowl LA now says that Moore reportedly will leave the LAT for "an LA-based job covering the criminal justice system" for the NYT.
Lakers lose again
They are down 2 games to zip in their NBA playoffs series against Phoenix. LAT
