Killer King flunks, to lose federal funds *

Federal regulators completed their latest evaluation of Martin Luther King Jr.-Harbor Hospital and decided it can't meet meet minimum standards for patient care. That means an end to federal funds and the almost certain closure of the important public hospital. LAT

* Saturday updates: The ER closed last night and the rest of the hospital could shut down within two weeks, leaving a vast part of the county underserved. LAT, Breeze. After observing the county Supervisors for decades, Bill Boyarsky posts that it's time to reform the dysfunctional board.
