Copley News Service fades away

The bureau in Los Angeles will close at the end of the year, the San Diego Union-Tribune staff was told yesterday. No word on what happens to the remaining personnel. Copley bureaus in Sacramento, Washington and Mexico City will be absorbed into the Union-Tribune, which was the long-time mother ship of the Copley chain.
