Closures in Griffith Park, 'debris flows'

Mayor Villaraigosa announced some road closures in the park as the rains continue. "The park has experienced some minor to moderate debris flows and flooding on several of its main roads and the Department will be implementing hard closure of some of areas of the park until the storm subsides," said Jon Kirk Mukri, general manager of Recreation and Parks, in a statement.

AREAS CLOSED IN GRIFFITH PARK

1. Zoo Drive to Griffith Park Drive

2. Griffith Park Drive - Outbound

3. Crystal Springs Drive - In and Outbound

4. Bird Sanctuary

Western Canyon and Vermont Canyon are currently open to the Griffith Observatory. The Observatory was open at it's regular time at noon.
