Examiner.com looking for L.A. help

No print edition, just online, and not much more ambitious than the mix already posted at the Anschutz media empire's obscure Los Angeles site — AP wires and generic stuff from elsewhere. Here's a post on it from 2006.

From Monster.com:

Los Angeles City Editor

Examiner.com is looking for dynamic, driven, and passionate local experts to join its growing management team as local City Editors. Both traditional and non-traditional journalists are encouraged to apply. Ideal candidates will have expansive knowledge of their local market and local Web sites.

City Editors will build Examiner.com by recruiting and managing a team of local content contributors. Candidates should have an established local network within the community and be able to demonstrate their strong local ties. City Editors should be strong motivators who are excellent team-builders, know how to teach and value personal and professional development.

City Editor will be responsible for daily management of all aspects of their local edition including content selection, content promotion and content development. City Editors will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on the community through traditional and non-traditional methods. City Editors will be able to work from a home office, café or just about anywhere with an Internet connection. City Editors will receive a competitive base salary, and have the ability to earn substantial incentives based on the performance of their local edition.

City Editor candidates should be extremely organized. Ideal candidates must be able to work independently, have basic HTML skills.

Examiner.com is an online media company, offering news and local information in 59 major metropolitan areas. We are not another online newspaper, but are re-creating online news venues from the ground up -- in terms of both technology and content delivery -- to establish a national brand that is the destination of choice for local information.

Interested candidates should send their resume and cover letter to: jobs@teamexaminer.com.
