Stuff white people like to read

Christian Lander, the Culver City-based writer of the hit satire blog Stuff White People Like, has gotten a William Morris agent (Erin Malone) and a book deal out of the gig. And why not: His intro post went up in January and has amassed 3700 comments. Publishers Lunch says the book will be:

...a 'study' of upper-middle-class white people, satirically exposing a culture that prides itself on individuality and diversity, yet manages to express these beliefs in exactly the same way (white people: Whole Foods, Wes Anderson, Starbucks, graduate school, kitchen gadgets, Barack Obama, Apple products, the movie Juno, expensive sandwiches, etc.).

The book is supposed to be two-thirds new material, so should we look for the site's bite to dull a bit? Random House Trade Paperbacks will publish.

Noted: Amanda Goldberg and Ruthanna Khalighi Hopper got another book deal, for "Celebutantes: Take Deux," set at the Cannes Film Festival.
