Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa spends the day up in Sacramento, with a full slate of appointments to see the new leadership and other legislators. Well, that's what his office announced. The Sacramento Bee's Capitol Alert picks up the rest of the agenda:

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is in Sacramento today, where he will gather campaign funds for his reelection effort in 2009.

His evening fundraiser is at Ella Dining Room & Bar in downtown Sacramento, with an influential list of hosts, including Assembly Speaker Fabian Núñez, lobbyists like Soyla Fernandez and Darius Anderson, members of the Tsakopoulos clan and Bob White, the former chief of staff to Gov. Pete Wilson.

The $1,000 per person event begins at 6:30 p.m.

Villaraigosa's candidate for president, Sen. Hillary Clinton, is in Menlo Park tapping venture capital types for funds. She'll be in Beverly Hills Thursday for a funder at the Wilshire Theatre.

On assignment: I need to go down to the City Council for this morning's debate on the DWP rate hike, so no Morning Buzz.
