  • The City Council gave tentative approval to a hike in the trash collection fee to $36 a month, from $26. You already pay taxes for the service, but they want more revenue. LAT, DN
  • The woman stabbed to death in a Century City parking garage was involved in a bitter divorce proceeding. LAT
  • The City Council imposed a one-year moratorium on new fast food outlets in a 32-square-mile area that includes West Adams, Leimert Park, Baldwin Hills and South Los Angeles. LAT, DN
