Deputy Escalante funeral

The funeral for murdered Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy Juan Escalante will be held at 9 am downtown at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. Burial follows at Resurrection Cemetery in Montebello. Some traffic closures are scheduled. Escalante was shot and killed outside his Cypress Park home as he left for work last Saturday morning. The Los Angeles City Council has offered a $75,000 reward for information on the attack.
