  • The 210 and 118 freeways across the upper San Fernando Valley are closed by the wildfire that started yesterday in Little Tujunga Canyon and is now burning buildings within the cities of Los Angeles and San Fernando. LAT
  • Red flag restrictions kick in across the hillside areas of Los Angeles at 10 am.
  • Government offices and banks are closed today for Columbus Day. Trash pickup schedules in L.A. are unaffected.
  • LAPD chief Bratton will front for Measure A, the city of Los Angeles proposition to impose a parcel tax for anti-gang programs. Rick Orlov/DN
