  • If you call an LAFD ambulance, the bill will now be $712 (or $1,004 for advanced life support) plus $15.75 per mile. That's 15 dollars per mile. Yes, the city also collects taxes to fund the service, but Councilman Bernard Parks said the LAFD rates for some reason need to be in line with what the county charges. DN
