Ethel Bradley, wife of mayor was 89

The wife of the late Tom Bradley died of pneumonia today at Kaiser Permanente West Los Angeles Medical Center. She lived for many years in the View Park neighborhood after leaving Getty House, the mayoral residence in Windsor Square where the Bradleys lived from about 1977 to 1993. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa issued a statement this afternoon:

"Today all of Los Angeles mourns the passing of its long-time, revered First Lady, Ethel Bradley.

"She served the City of Los Angeles with dignity and class throughout her life and we will remember her as a woman of grace, with a supreme commitment to her family, a tireless community spirit and the Dodgers' biggest fan."
