You've got to hear Peruvian-born singer Yma Sumac go from baritone to super high notes in this clip from last night's report on NPR's All Things Considered. Sumac was a sensation in the 1950s as the "Nightingale of the Andes" and the "Peruvian Songbird." She died over the weekend in an assisted-living facility in Silver Lake at age 86, the L.A. Times said.
