Newly powerful Reps. Henry Waxman and Howard Berman are the key draws at a Sunday gathering at USC of the Jewish Federation's New Leaders Project. They will be honored along with Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa will give the keynote lunch address, and panels will feature a range of invited speakers including Steve Barr of Green Dot Public Schools, City Attorney candidate Jack Weiss, DWP chief David Nahai, UTLA head A.J. Duffy and author Raphael Sonenshine.
