Maurice Jarre, Oscar-winning composer was 84

Maurice JarreJarre won Oscars for the scores of "Lawrence of Arabia," " Doctor Zhivago" and "A Passage to India," and composed music for more than 150 other films. He died in Los Angeles after suffering from cancer. Jarre was born in France and came to the U.S. in the 1960s. His children include Los Angeles screenwriter Kevin Jarre and composer Jean-Michel Jarre. BBC
