gettyhousewikipedia.jpgThe party itself was probably pretty loud — a black-tie bash for old pol Willie Brown's 75th birthday, at Mayor Villaraigosa's official residence in Windsor Square. What was quiet about it is that the Los Angeles Times and other media didn't know it was happening or didn't mention it. Brown lets it slip at the bottom of his column in the San Francisco Chronicle where he also went on about celebrating in Paris with 120 guests:

Tuesday there was a black-tie dinner in Los Angeles hosted by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa at the Getty Mansion for my 75th It was a ball.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger got off the best shot of the night: "Willie, you know you're 75 when sex becomes a four-letter word - HELP!"

Be fun to see a comprehensive and public audit of the events held at Getty House. Laura Chick still has a few more months as Controller...
