Lakers and Ducks move on

The Lakers were the #1 seed eliminating the #8 Jazz, while the Ducks achieved the reverse: the lowest-ranked playoff team in the NHL's west knocking off the top-seeded San Jose Sharks. Both winners go on to the second round.

Call it a career: Utah's exit also was the last game for broadcaster Hot Rod Hundley, an original Los Angeles Laker who announced alongside Chick Hearn in the 1960s. Hundley was the top pick in the 1957 NBA Draft. Deseret News
