Little Tujunga brush fire *

Lori Jablons sends this photo of a brush fire burning this afternoon in the hills behind her Lake View Terrace neighborhood. "You can see the flames within the smoke, and it’s amazing how fast it seems to be burning," she writes. "Neighbors are a bit worried. I’ve been living up here since 2001 and a few summers ago there was a fire in the same place, but the firefighters got it before it advanced." Early media reports put it on Angeles National Forest land in Little Tujunga Canyon and still a small fire, perhaps 35 acres.

* 3:45 update: Much less smoke, neighbors less tense.

Earlier in the day: A small fire was knocked down on Academy Drive in the Elysian Park area, per LAFD.
