SM Pier turns 100

Lots of festivities on tap, including musical performances and a big fireworks show tonight in Santa Monica Bay. It's likely to be a mob scene later on, so city officials recommend walking, biking or taking the Big Blue Bus to the celebration. Parking is going to cost you: In order to reduce congestion, the city is charging $20 for all beach lots (that's after 2 p.m.). That's if you get to the beach - several streets will be closed.
