The 5-0 lead held up and for an hour the Dodgers have been spraying bubbly on each other and fans. The playoffs open Wednesday at Dodger Stadium, with the Cardinals in town. The Rockies will play the Phillies. The Dodgers' win gives them the best record in the National League and ensures they will open at home in the next series too, if they make it that far. Since June 1, all three other NL playoff teams have better records. The Dodgers' pitchers have allowed the fewest runs, while neither the Dodgers nor the Cardinals have closed strong, winning just three of their last ten games. Game 2 of the Dodgers-Cardinals series will be Thursday at the stadium.
