The editors who work late in newsroom of the San Gabriel Valley Tribune got a little scare last night. The pizza joint that keeps them fueled didn't answer the phone. It reminded senior Metro Editor Frank Girardot of the day 20 years ago when the rumors about the L.A. Herald Examiner became true, but his column explains that this time it turned out OK.
