The books-and-social-networking site Goodreads announced last week it has picked up $2 million in venture capital funding — its second round. Founder Otis Chandler, grandson of the former L.A. Times publisher, says the money will first go into improving the infrastructure and hiring engineers, then to service enhancements. He tells Jacket Copy's Carolyn Kellogg that the 2.5 million members are most numerous in (in order) New York, London, Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco.
