Lakers and me on 'Politics of Culture'

Thumbnail image for lakersbookcover.jpgInside on the new LA Observed books page, the featured book of the week is "Los Angeles Lakers: 50 Amazing Years in the City of Angels," the first issue from Time Capsule Press. I'll be hosting a live edition of of KCRW's Politics of Culture Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. with editor-publisher Narda Zacchino and L.A. Times sports columnist Mark Heisler, the unofficial Lakers historian who wrote some of the stories in the book. Here's some background on the book and the publishing house, which was created to repurpose old newspaper morgue clippings and photos. The book was designed by Tom Trapnell, the former design director at the Times who used to do books for the Times' own no-longer-with-us publishing unit. Got questions I should ask Zacchino and Heisler? Shoot me an email.

The show airs at 2:30 p.m. on 89.9 FM or live on the web at KCRW.com.
