News director change at Channels 2 and 9

Scott Diener is the new VP and news director at the KCBS and KCAL duopoly. He follows his former boss, recently named president and GM Steve Mauldin, from the CBS duopoly in Dallas-Fort Worth. The news release takes pains to stress that Diener has roots in Southern California, but doesn't mention his predecessor Nancy Bauer-Gonzales at all. Mauldin is the new boss who killed the NewsCentral branding that was just unveiled a few months ago.
