Nikki Finke takes a reporter

Diane Haithman, the former Los Angeles Times arts and entertainment writer, has joined Finke's Deadline Hollywood as an interviewer of TV show runners. Finke writes that they were hired at the Times about a month apart 22 years ago. Haithman left the Times via the ever-popular layoff route last October.

More ex-LATers: AOL Sphere has signed up Scott Martelle, the Times refugee who helped start The Journalism Shop, to write stories from Los Angeles. His first piece is on today's Schwarzenegger speech. Richard C. Paddock is writing from San Francisco.
