Arts writer Diane Haithman out at Times

Diane Haithman has been writing in the Calendar section of the L.A. Times for a good long while. Most recently she has been doing a lot for Culture Monster, the section's arts and culture blog, and writing the "Heidi Chronicles" column on breaking her dog into Hollywood for Unleashed, the paper's pets blog. Even so, she confirms via email that she was one of those let go today:

Well, if I’m going, I would be most honored to have the news on L.A. Observed...I was also laid off today.

Haithman is the co-author of "The Elder Wisdom Circle Guide for a Meaningful Life." Earlier today I reported that Calendar columnist Tina Daunt was laid off. She got her word last night; the word on others is trickling out, and I'll report those who I am able to confirm.
