LAT adds book prize for graphic novels, names finalists

The L.A. Times announced the finalists for its 30th annual book prizes and added a new category for graphic novels. The paper also plans to give a new Innovators Award to Dave Eggers. The Robert Kirsch Award for lifetime achievement is going to Evan S. Connell. Among the finalists in ten categories are Kevin Starr, Michelle Huneven and Eggers. Full list
