Los Angeles writer Mary Susan Herczog wrote first-person stories about her experiences with breast cancer in the L.A. Times during the late 1990s and again in 2002. She has also been a writer of travel books for Frommer's and worked in the movie industry. Herczog passed away today after battling the disease for 12 years, according to her husband Steve Hochman, the longtime music writer for AOL Spinner and the Times. I anticipate that the paper will have a full obit upcoming.
