The annual lecture series in memory of murdered journalist Daniel Pearl continues this evening with author and journalist Christopher Hitchens talking on "Varieties of Anti-Semitism." It's at 5 p.m. in Korn Convocation Hall at UCLA. Previous presenters have included Anderson Cooper, David Brooks, Ted Koppel, Larry King, Jeff Greenfield, Daniel Schorr and Thomas Friedman (who was mentioned in a previous LAO item today.) Pearl, who grew up in L.A., was a Wall Street Journal reporter when he was kidnapped and killed by terrorists in Pakistan in 2002.
