Pakistan says it arrested Adam Gadahn

GadahnAssociated Press and now the L.A. Times are reporting that the Southern Californa-bred spokesman for Al Qaeda has been arrested in recent days by Pakistani intelligence officers in Karachi. Gadahn's most recent video calling for muslim violence was also posted Sunday. Gadahn, 31, grew up as Adam Pearlman on a goat farm in Riverside County — the metal head son of 1960s underground psychedelic musician Phil Pearlman — and converted at the Islamic Society of Orange County. Gadahn reportedly moved to Pakistan in 1998, and later became a translator and public face for Al Qaeda — sometimes called Azzam the American. A U.S. court here charged Gadahn with treason in 2006, and there's a $1 million reward for information leading to his arrest or conviction. Media stories erroneously reported based on intelligence sources in 2008 that Gadahn had been killed.
