A burst of points in the fourth period lets the Lakers pull away 124-112. Next game is Sunday in Phoenix.

Earlier today: L.A. Times basketball writer Mark Heiser heaped a pile of sarcastic scorn on his unnamed colleagues (Plaschke and Simers among them) for writing — "a fairy tale, unsupported by any reporting" — that Kobe Bryant tanked in a playoff game seven in 2006.
