  • A state attorney general in Mexico has issued a murder warrant for TV producer Bruce Beresford-Redman in the death of his wife Monica in Cancun. He issued a statement saying he didn't do it. LAT, KNX
  • Archbishop José H. Gomez celebrated the Memorial Day Mass at the San Fernando Mission Cemetery and Mausoleum, got a standing ovation from more than 1,000 faithful and "a rock star welcome." DN
  • Amway is paying for 13,000 of its top Chinese sellers to spend a week seeing the sights in Southern California. LAT
  • A Trader Joe's clerk in Eagle Rock was shot in the leg after clubbing a robber with wine bottle. The robbers got away and the clerk was taken to a hospital for treatment. LAT
  • Lakers center Andrew Bynum had fluid drained from his injured right knee in the hope it will help him be ready for the finals that begin Thursday against the Boston Celtics. ESPN
  • L.A. Times media writer James Rainey tweeted that his column this week will be about the Santa Barbara news scene, apparently including Miller-McCune: "Miller-McCune magazine unabashedly pursuing quality journalism. Funded by academic SAGE Publishing and its founder Sara Miller McCune."
  • California Supreme Court Chief Justice Ronald George will deliver a State of the Judiciary address at the Beverly Hills Bar Association at noon.
  • At today's Board of Supervisors meeting, the supes are due to take up the Arizona boycott motion.
  • Art critic Christopher Knight urges MOCA's new director to add evening hours and drop the $10 admission charge. LAT
  • "A Chorus Line" opens tonight at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood.
  • The story behind Mystic Journey Bookstore in Venice, founded on Abbot Kinney by lawyer and cancer survivor Jeffrey Segal. LAT
