Yay, we're not the only sports goons

violence-in-paris.jpgAlgerians (apparently) in Paris rampaged after today's U.S. victory in the World Cup, smashing windows and igniting or flipping over 20 cars. Police user tear gas to disperse the rioting youth. Separate from the disappointment over the Algerian team losing, President Nicolas Sarkozy has ordered an official appraisal of the state of French soccer after the national team's bumbling presence in South Africa.

Also: An Algerian player slapped a female reporter on the face in the interview zone.
